Tamboo
The Tamboo Academy covers a wide range of learning, teaching and practices in physical and sexual well-being, ecological responsibility, intimacy and interdependence, imagination and creativity, psychotherapeutic awareness and spiritual being.
There are several interdependent limbs of Tamboo and Kadeisha.
i. Individual Psychological Therapy deals with physical pathology, sexual issues, including sexual abuse and dysfunctions, relationship and intimacy matters, depression, addictions, mental instability, creative blocks and spiritual counseling. Depth therapy is usually with one person but might include couples and family therapy.
ii. Intensive Individual Therapy and Convalescent Retreat is offered to anyone, especially for those from other areas or overseas, who wish to address their psychological issues in an uninterrupted fashion over several days, and also those who wish to stay in residential sanctuary for a longer time. These residential processes are overseen by a personal therapist.
iii. Radiant Images Workshops offer challenging levels of academic studies and direct experiences in an extensive range of psychological, philosophical, creative and religious processes. Specific workshops are focused on psychological processes, intimacy and relationships, mythology and religious teachings, divination and creativity, pathology and healing processes, kadeisha and sexual maturity, shamanism, the mystic teachings of kabbalah and alchemy, the mystery schools of the ancient near east and other areas of interest.
iv. Interactive Groups offer a format for several individuals to work together in a therapeutic environment. These groups use each other as co-therapists to resolve issues and are facilitated by an experienced fellow-student or teacher. For many people, this dynamic method can often alleviate the need for much of conventional therapy.
v. Lectures on a range of subjects. Lectures are offered in Cape Town, Gauteng, Knysna, and online. The PanTimes talks offer weekly one-hours talks. Archetypal Philosophy is taught in the series ‘Strange Loves’. Other subjects are taught in the series of three lectures ‘An Anatomy of the Soul’. Further topics include ‘C.G. Jung’s Aion’, ‘Creativity and Imagination’, ‘Money Matters’, ‘Sexual Imagination and Erotic Practice’’ .
vi. Tamboo Academy and Archetypal Therapist study courses are offered to those who want further insight and training in these teachings and their applied practices. Some people study for their own personal pleasure and development. Others have the additional aim of becoming practicing therapists. These study courses are open to those who have completed a minimum of basic workshops and individual therapy sessions.
